To All Commissioners
In order to have a more balanced decision making process that includes a disability lens, I am asking the Commission to support the following motion for City Council to consider adding another member to the Commission who can represent this community.
In an effort to provide a more balanced and equitable Commission that will encompass an accessibility lens, the London Transit Commission is requesting London City Council to amend the current by-law (A-6377-206, Section 3.) to:
- Add one more voting member of the public to the London Transit Commission using an accessibility lens for selection, bringing the Commission to six members.
Consideration would be requested that the additional Commissioner would be in place for December 1, 2023 to allow time for application, appropriate selection and approvals.
