School Trips – 12 years old and under

Once again this school year, London Transit will be issuing a voucher for groups of students 12 and under traveling on London Transit for school trips/field trips organized by their respective teachers/schools.

Teachers must apply at least Two Weeks prior to any outing. Here’s how to apply:

  1. Complete online form
  2. Save as a pdf and send to ltc@londontransit.ca
  3. A voucher will be emailed back to the teacher who will be responsible for printing.
  4. At time of boarding,
    • Please allow other passengers to board the bus in front of your group
    • One teacher/adult is to show the note allowing children 12 and under to travel free
    • Children 13 and older and teachers/chaperones must pay a fare

Please note that London Transit is currently experiencing crowding conditions on a majority of its routes at any given time; as such, it may be a challenge to travel with a group. Teachers should prepare for their group to be separated and should plan to have an appropriate number of chaperones be on-hand as well as printed vouchers.

Please also note:

  • London Transit is a first come first served service and seats cannot be guaranteed, especially during peak travel time on busy routes
  • Peak travel times are typically between 6 am and 9:30 am and 2 pm and 6 pm – it is best to travel outside of these times although, as noted above, we are seeing crowding throughout the day.
  • If children will be standing, please ensure that they are hanging on to the yellow stanchion poles or the grey overhead handles
  • All passengers are asked to ride respectfully and to be considerate of other passengers.  Please refrain from playing loud music, yelling, swearing etc.

At any time, please do not hesitate to reach out to our Customer Service Representatives at ltc@londontransit.ca or 519-541-1340 if you have any questions.

Thank you for using public transit and we look forward to welcoming new transit riders!
